Chapter 38 Leopold instantly composed himself, realizing the lapse in his typically cool demeanor.

“Lying is a sin, remember that.” “I didn't lie, | swear.” She tried to explain, but Leopold had already turned and walked away.

Leopold's icy black eyes twinkled, as if a layer of frost was melting away.

Aurelia glanced at him and quickly turned her head away.

She was afraid that if she looked too long, she would become too attached and unable to part with them.

Leopold looked at her, a sharp glint in his eyes, a hint of mockery on his stern face.
