Chapter 78 - | Don’t Care About The Mom (Sky's POV) The glass door to my private office opened, and | smiled when | saw a tall, slender woman walking into the office. Her beautiful smile curved her lips as she cto me, with no greetings but sitting right away on my lap, taking the pen in my hand and placing my hands. around her waist.

Lalaine claimed my mouth, kissingpassionately for a few seconds before moving away. “I hope I'm not marching the altar alone, Sky,” she smiled as she trailed my necktie. “You're nowhere to be found last weekend, and when you finally appeared, you were a beast in the office again.” “Beast?” | laughed, taking the pen from her. “I was just busy, that's all.” She stood up and sat on the couch near my table. “I'm free this weekend. Want to travel with me?” When | didn’t answer, she walked in front of my table and propped her elbows, adorably blinking her round brown eyes at me. “Just the two of us.” “Tempting,” | said, glancing at her cleavage. “I knew you would say that, darling,” she said, walking back to the couch. She sat, crossing her legs as she took her smartphone. “How about we go next weekend, just not this coming weekend?” | suggested, wanting to make it up for her, but not this coming Saturday. | would not miss another birthday of my children. I have been tailing Angela, and for a genius, she was failing in her own game.

Dean Jones called me, telling Angela gave her a resignation letter. Who would resign in a short period of tat work? She has not even completed a month at the university and has not even claimed her first paycheck yet.

The girls had been absent from school, and | didn‘t need someone to check on her about that because Joe had called me, asking if my girls were okay and saying her daughter was worried her friends were sick.

I had to go hlast night because her scent in my bed, on the couch, still lingered, makingwish she was beside me, and | would lie in bed at night, thinking how stunningly beautiful Angela was.

“Sky?” called Lalaine, makingraise my head and turn to her. “You're not listening to me. Is everything okay with Uncle Steve?” | blinked my eyes, pulling myself back to reality. “Yes, I'm sorry. What were you saying?” She chuckled. “Nothing, darling. | said Aunt Jocelyn‘s back, and | invited her shopping next week.” “Ah!” | said nothing more, only nodding for her to know | heard about it. She heaved a sigh, standing up. “I'm leaving,” she kissedon the cheek. “I just check if | still have a fiancé here. | hate to think somebody might steal you away from me.” She turned her back on me, but | gripped her wrist, pulling her back to my lap, kissing her deeper.

“You still have a fiancé, Lalaine,” | assured her.

“Good! Now, I'm leaving you in peace because surely your secretaries were not happy | was disturbing you.” She stood up. “You should consider letting Catherine retire early, darling » “I like Catherine. She's efficient and really good at her job,” | signed the document before glancing at her.

She rolled her eyes at me. “Yeah, right. My point is she’s been Uncle Steve's secretary. Maybe it's about tyou look for someone young and -".

“Would you mind if | get a young, beautiful, smart secretary?” | smiled wickedly at her. She sneered at me. “Let's just stick to the old Catherine, then.” “I heard that,” Catherine smirked at her as she walked in my direction, givingmy phone, which | probably left in the conference room. “Heaven Scent called,” She uttered, raising her eyebrows atas if askinga question that should not be said. “Selene said to call her back if you‘re not busy.” “Thank you,” | took my phone and placed it on the table. “I'm leaving,” Lalaine said when she realized Catherine was not leaving. She gavea quick kiss on the lips before walking out of the office.

“Sky,” A motherly Catherine turned towhen she was sure Lalaine was out. “I know it's not my business, but what‘s with this cute little voice asking for her Daddy? Frank toldyou‘re looking for Angela again. Is this child your daughter?” | smirked. “I have daughters, Catherine.” “A daughter,” She corrected as if | was her student in a grammar class.

“Nope. Angela gavethree beautiful daughters, Catherine.” | told her, and surely Elenita would be jealous for not knowing it first. “What? And what do you intend to do with them?” She asked, horrified not with my children but with what could probably happen once the world knew about my daughters. “I'm taking my daughters, Catherine,” | said, turning my attention to the papers | was reading “And the mother?” She asked worriedly. “She can marry someone else, the hell | care!” | hissed and put my pen down. Heaving a deep sigh, | stared at her.

“I'm taking my daughters. | don‘t care about her. I'm taking my daughters, Catherine.” | was breathless after saying it. She smirked. “I heard you, Sky. You just said you're taking your daughters three times and don’t care about the mother.” She shook her head as she headed to the door, but she turned toagain before she could go out of the office.

“By the way, why is Frank having fun at the amusement park while I'm here stuck with you in the office?” She asked, not exactly mad at me, but her naughty smile just said everything. “Catherine!” | growled.

She releases a heartily laugh before leaving, alone in my office.

Shaking my head, | took the phone and dialed Angela‘s number. | was not surprised anymore that Selene answered the phone since she was the one who calledfirst. Angela probably didn‘t know she had her phone.

“Daddy, are you busy?” Her cute voice asked as soon as she answered the call. “Umm... Not really, baby. Is everything okay?” | asked, opening another folder. “Umm... Mommy said she's okay, and we don’t need to call you, but - “When Selene began crying, my heart stopped beating. | swallowed hard as | imagined a million scenarios of accidents that could happen in thparks. The pen | was holding dropped on the floor, and | started to panic that | didn’t even know where my car key was for a while since Frank has to drive foralmost all the time. “Daddy‘s coming. Stop crying, Selene.” | ended the call and almost bumped into Catherine when she returned to my office.

She waved her phone. “Frank's calling. He said -” “Tell him I'm coming. Did he tell you if Angela was okay?” | could not breathe. Let her be okay. Let her be fine. She shrugged. “I didn’t ask. You just said it yourself; you don‘t care about the mom.” “Argh!” | growled at her, almost running toward the elevator, and for the first tin my life, | uttered a prayer, hoping nothing serious happened to Angela.
