Dan and Karan moved forward without a second's hesitation, stepping on the shards of glass. Instead of a puddle of shattered glass, it appeared as though they were walking on grass. It was interesting to note that not a single one of their movements—let alone those that actually moved any glass shards—made even the slightest noise.

"This time, I'll be the one to close my eyes. Let's get started. '' Dan said, taking a deep breath before closing his eyes. All of the emotion that had been present on his face vanished in an instant. He appeared to be as still as water, completely silent.

Likewise, Karan appeared utterly emotionless and incredibly composed. The silence they created around them would have made one think that they were getting ready to catch fish instead of fighting on the broken glass.

Dan and Karan were about to start moving for their training, when the warehouse door was suddenly blown up by a massive explosion.

*BOOOMM*

...

''W-what's happening? ''

...

''The door exploded! ''

...

''S-womeone is entering.''

''Get down, they've got guns! ''

While the people in the warehouse were shouting in surprise and fear, armed and completely masked individuals emerged from the smoke.

''No one dies if you don't move or resist.''

After about 15-20 people entered, one of them said as they pointed their guns at the terrified residents.

''What are you doing? Who are you? '' Dan yelled furiously. Though he had a good idea of who they were, he hoped it wasn't them. They were completely caught off guard right now because they weren't yet prepared to face them.

''You must be well aware of who we are. You did, after all, turn against us a few days ago, and now you're going to pay for it. '' Another masked and armed man, who appeared to be their leader, stepped forward slowly and said sternly.

''Ashskin Gang!'' Karan exclaimed through clenched teeth.

They had experienced what they had feared most. Ashskin Gang had finally come to avenge what had happened a few days ago.

''Don't worry, we're not here to kill anyone. It's just that you've been getting a lot of attention lately, and the boss wants to see a few of you. It is sufficient if only a few people chosen by us come with us; there is no need for everyone to come. Hahaha ''

When they heard what the masked man said, everyone's faces fell. They were well aware of what would happen if they followed them. It was well-known among the locals. The Ashskin gang arrives and abducts the people they choose, and they are never seen or heard from again.

The only thing that would happen to those who accompanied them was that they would become the subject of a crazy item holder and die in the most painful way possible.

"Nobody is coming with you. Who do you think you are? Get out of here.''  While everyone was trembling in fear, an old man with a handful of teeth in his mouth stepped forward, shouting angrily.

''Hm? I guess I didn't speak clearly enough.'' The masked man drew his gun, aimed it at the senile old grandpa, and prepared to fire.

''Stop. ''

He was about to shoot when he heard Dan's voice and came to a halt.

''Tell me while I'm still patient. Will you come willingly or unwillingly? '' The masked man lowered his weapon once more and inquired sarcastically.

''We will come. Just let us decide who comes.''  Dan spoke calmly. But his clenched fists as he spoke were enough to convey his rage.

''Unfortunately, that is not how it works.  We will make the decision, and you will obey. You should not try to bargain in this situation.''  As soon as the man finished his sentence, he raised his gun,

*BANG*

''Aggh..''

and shot the senile old grandpa in the leg.

''Grandpa!!!''

''You villains. What have we done to you? ''

''Can't you just leave us alone? If you're brave enough, come unarmed.'''

Everyone who saw the old man being shot erupted in rage, but they all fell silent at Dan's shout.

''Enough!!!''

Dan looked around the room with serious eyes after silencing everyone and said. ''Let them choose. Better than all of us dying.''

''B-But boss… ''

''I said enough!''

One of the young men attempted to speak, but Dan cut him off again. Because of Dan's solemn and sad expression, everyone understood the gravity of the situation. Either the selected few or everyone would perish.

Dan sighed as he looked around at everyone's helpless expressions and said to the masked man.

''Go on. I just hope you'll be fair. ''

Dan didn't want the man to choose the kids at the very least. The young and old could have offered their lives as a sacrifice, but the children had just started their lives.

''Yeah, don't worry. I'll be completely fair. Hahaha, '' The man laughed and began pointing at people in the crowd. There were no children among his chosen ones, but he had chosen nearly half of the population.

''Hey, isn't that too much?  Why don't you simply kill us all? '' Fatty Sami couldn't take it any longer and interrupted.

''Sami! It's fine. Think about the children. '' Dan intervened.

''Your leader seems to be intelligent. At least he is aware of his boundaries. Those who are still alive can express their gratitude to him later. Hahahah. '' He laughed sarcastically once more and continued.

''Additionally, I didn't like the way he was yelling at me. I'm going to choose one more person. '' This time, Rayn, who was in his wheelchair and watching with enraged eyes and clenched teeth, was the target of the man's finger.

''You will also accompany us. You can blame your bad luck on the fat guy. Hahahaha''

''Y-you… '' Fatty Sami was about to speak again when he abruptly stopped himself so that no one else would have bad luck because of him.

He was so enraged and regretful that his eyes welled up with tears. However, the flames that were currently blazing in his eyes couldn't be extinguished by even the tears that were streaming from them.
