Betrayed by My Beta Mate Chapter 121
55 Prepare to Fight
Simone POV
“Don’t worry Grant, I don’t want you anymore than you want me. No, this is just another way for that b**ch the goddess to make
you suffer for all you have done. This is for you to know the pain of being rejected by the one person that is supposed to love you
above all others. You have caused so much suffering and I am part of that punishment. She knew I would never accept a
beloved. We are both cold and only care about what we want. I’m sure one day I will suffer for my crimes as well, but today is not
that day.” He looks at me with anger and confusion. “I, Simone Laster, reject you, Grant Hoffner, as my beloved.” He screams
and the pain of the rejection takes him off his feet. I feel a twinge of pain, but my heart is nothing more than an organ to pump
the evil blood that flows through my veins. I feel nothing for the man that is rolling around on the floor. His Beta rushes over trying
to help Grant but he fights against him. “You f**king b**ch” he manages to get out through groans of pain. “Accept the rejection
so we can get on with the reason I’m here.” His eyes meet mine and they are as black as night. His wolf is angry that I am so
callous about rejecting him. “I, Grant Hoffner, accept the rejection.” After a few minutes, he manages to make it back to his seat.
“Your Beta tells me that you are trying to get your chosen mate back from the Nightfire pack.” He clenches his fists when I call
her chosen. I know everything he has done in the past. I make sure I know who I’m dealing with before I make any deals. “I want
something from the pack as well, so it would be wise for us to work together.” ” She should have been destined to me by the
goddess in the first place, but just like you, she is an evil b**ch. If you are so powerful, why do you need my pack to get this wolf
you’re so interested in.” I laugh “I guess you aren’t as stupid as you act.” He growls and I roll my eyes. “The Nightfire isn’t a
typical wolf pack and your pack will serve as the perfect distraction for me to get what I want.” This time he laughs “so we are to
serve as your diversion and you will leave us to the slaughter.” I smile and he crosses his arms over his chest. “If we are going to
do this, I want a blood oath that you will hold up your end of the deal.” “I can’t guarantee the safety of your men with the number
of witches living in that pack.” He shakes his head and I’m the one who is confused now. “The only thing that matters to me is
getting Evelyn back. It doesn’t matter how many of my pack members die in the process. I will get more wolves but I only have
one, Luna.” I watch his Beta stiffen behind him because of his words. He really is out of his mind over the stupid she-wolf. “Fine, I
will do the blood oath. Do we have a deal?” He takes a dagger from his desk and drags it across his hand before he gives it to
me. I do the same and offer him my hand.

Once our hands touch, I say the words of the oath. “I, Simone Laster, vow to ensure that Alpha Grant Hoffner gets his chosen
mate, Evelyn Hoffner, back.” He squeezes my hand and his eyes meet mine. “Alive and well”, he says, and I smile. He really is

much smarter than I gave him credit for. Meeting the terms of the oath is very dependent on exactly what is said in the vow. If he
didn’t just insist, I add those three words, I could give him her body and fulfill the oath. I repeat the oath adding the words alive
and well. A black flash from our combined hands seals the vow before I pull my hand back. I stand “get your men together
because we are heading to the Nightfire pack tomorrow at dusk.” He nods and I teleport myself back to my cottage. I begin
working on the silver and wolfsbane mixture to hold the red wolf once I have her. Her power is intoxicating and once she is here
and defenseless, her power will be mine.
Rose POV
“Our mate is beautiful” Clara says with a purr. I can’t help but chuckle. Oscar looks at me with a knowing smirk. “I take it you’re
talking to your wolf.” I nod “she thinks you’re beautiful.” He smiles “I don’t think I have ever been called beautiful in my life. I can’t
wait to meet her.” Clara is prancing in my head and I roll my eyes. “Mate and mark him” she says. I want that to but she needs to
calm down. I put a block up so I can focus on talking to Oscar. He takes my hand in his and the tingles dance on my skin. It is the
most amazing feeling. “Rose, does it bother you that I’m a vampire.” “No” I say harsher than I mean to. “Oscar, I trust the
goddess completely and she picked you for me. I would be an i***t not to accept you even if you were a flying monkey.” He
laughs and goddess, I love that sound. “That’s one of my favorite movies.” “Me too” I say and we continue to talk about things we
like. I always thought meeting my mate would be more carnal, but this is so much better. Don’t get me wrong, every part of me
wants to feel his skin against mine, but getting to know his heart and mind is going to make that moment so much better.
We talk for a while longer before there is a knock on the door. Oscar stands and when he reaches the door, Magnum is smiling
at us both. I notice that he isn’t marked either and I feel a little better that we didn’t just complete the bond. “I’m sorry to interrupt
your time with your beloved but we need to meet with the others about Grant.” I freeze hearing that ba**ards name. I’m on my
feet and standing by Oscar’s side. “Let’s go”, I say not waiting for Oscar’s response. Once Larisa joins us, we head to Eli’s office.
The room is full and when my eyes land on my parents I chuckle. My mother is wiggling her eyebrows at me and my father is
scowling at Oscar. I know it’s just because I’m his little girl, but he will have to get past that. Oscar is my fated mate and I will
never let him go. Cayden and Penny are smiling at us and my mind wanders to what he will think about Clara being my wolf.
“Cayden is going to be happy for us. You need to let that worry go, Rose” Clara says. Oscar’s arm pulling me into his side brings
me out of my thoughts. He kisses my forehead and I focus my attention on Eli and Calliope.
Eli POV
After Magnum and Larisa came to speak to us about Grant, I had to push down the rage. That ba**ard took so much from Clara

and he continues to plague our lives. I am not usually the one to make the first move because it can be telling to your enemy, but
I agree with Magnum, it’s time to take the fight to that ba**ard. Once everyone is gathered in my office, we discuss our attack on

the Red Moon pack. “I want to be the one that kills that ba**ard” Evelyn says, and everyone looks toward her. I can see Hudson
wants to protest but he stays quiet. “Mom” Cayden starts to say, but she shoots him a glare. “He took my pups from me for
eighteen years. He made me believe that I was his goddess given mate when I wasn’t. My pups and I are the ones that suffered
the most because of his actions and I will be the one to make him take his last breath. This is not up for debate, Cayden.” I can
see that Cayden wants me to forbid her but he knows that isn’t possible. Evelyn has every right to want this and I will not
interfere. I will protect her just as Hudson and Cayden will, but she is strong. I nod at Evelyn. “Magnum and Oscar will be
returning to the coven so they can be ready to fight by our side. We will leave for the Red Moon in two days. I expect everyone to
be at training tomorrow. I know how strong you all are, but we can’t afford for any of us to be cocky. We are stronger than the
Red Moon but none of us know who else Grant has involved in his attempts to get Evelyn back.” Hudson’s growl shakes the
office and Evelyn climbs into his lap to calm him down.
We discuss things for another hour before we have things completely settled. Everyone leaves my office and I take a seat in my
chair. I wish we could just have some peace. I want to spend time with Faith and Calliope without all this hanging over us.
Calliope slides into my lap and I bury my head in her neck breathing in her scent. “That time will come, Eli, but right now we need
to fight to keep the people that are important to us safe.” “I’m so grateful that the goddess sent you to me. I’m so sorry for how
stupid I was when you first arrived.” She chuckles “you weren’t stupid, you were hurting. I’m grateful every day that you gave me
the chance, even though you were afraid too. I love you Eli and all that is in the past. I want to focus on our future. Once all this
is dealt with, I want to take Faith and meet my mother’s true mate. She sounds so happy and after all Mateo did to her, she
deserves that.” I kiss her forehead. “Let’s go get our girl and spend time with her, because the next two days are going to be
grueling.” She presses her lips to mine and the love I feel for her washes a peace over me that I know won’t last, but it feels
amazing in this moment.
I lift her carrying her to our floor. We thank my parents for keeping Faith and they leave us to find Larisa and Magnum. Larisa
and Rose will be heading to the coven for the next two days. Part of me is sad that Larisa’s mate is going to take her from the
pack but I’m happy that he came to his senses. I can see the love he has for my sister by all he has done to make amends.
Calliope grabs Faith from her crib to get her something to eat while I start on our dinner. “Eli, Calliope can’t fight with us this
time”, Silas says and I chuckle. “Silas, I love you because you’re my wolf, but I will not go against our mate because you are
afraid of losing her. I know the fear because I feel it too, but that’s not fair to her. She is strong and capable.” He growls at me
and I stiffen because his anger has never been directed at me. “Do you really think I don’t know how capable our beautiful mate
is? She is carrying our pup in her belly. She needs to protect our pup and you need to convince her to sit this fight out.” I turn
staring at Calliope, who is feeding our daughter. Pictures of her belly round with our pup play like a slide show in my mind and I
know Silas is right but she is a warrior. Goddess help me to make her understand.
